Who supplies Chumi

Chumi is the trading brand of Ross Mackintosh, a sole proprietor trading as Chumi. Address for notices and service of process: 18 Victoria Street, Robertson, Western Cape, 6705, South Africa. Contact phone: +27 76 917 3535. Website: chumi.co.za. Email: [email protected].

What Chumi provides

Chumi is a hosted hospitality operations service with workforce rostering, attendance, recipes, ingredient and supplier pricing, stock counts, purchasing records, reports and related operational tools. Availability can vary by subscription and configuration. It does not issue statutory payroll filings, provide legal advice or certify food-safety compliance.

Your workspace

You must provide accurate registration information, be authorised to act for the business and secure administrator logins. You control staff access and the records submitted. Business operators remain responsible for employment rules, wage records, food safety, allergens, lawful employee monitoring and the accuracy of uploaded supplier data.

Subscription and trials

Chumi displays subscription prices in South African rand according to active employee headcount. The standard introductory trial is 30 days; a valid ambassador referral may offer 90 days. The price, applicable taxes, next billing date and any optional once-off charges must be shown before confirming a Stripe checkout. Plans renew monthly until cancelled. A trial does not itself generate a paid subscription invoice. Billing and cancellation status are handled through Chumi's account billing page and Stripe's hosted portal where available. Check the exact order summary and renewal conditions before confirming payment.

Changes, cancellation and refunds

You may cancel future subscription renewals through the available billing controls or by contacting support. Cancelling typically prevents future renewal charges but may affect service access at the end of the paid period or trial. Refunds and cooling-off rights depend on the applicable law and circumstances, including any provisions of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and Consumer Protection Act. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights. Disputed charges: contact Chumi support with your invoice reference.

Customer data and privacy

The business normally decides why and how its workforce, supplier and customer records are used and acts as the responsible party under POPIA. Chumi acts as an operator for the business's uploaded records and handles its own account, billing and support information as a responsible party. The Privacy Notice explains processing, requests, service providers and international transfers. Businesses are responsible for their workers' privacy notices, lawful bases and any required safeguards for health, location or special personal information.

Availability, security and misuse

We aim to operate a dependable service, but no system guarantees uninterrupted availability. Do not use Chumi for illegal activities, unlawful collection of personal information or unauthorised data access. Temporary suspensions may be necessary for security incidents, maintenance or non-payment. Customers should keep their own required business records and backups of critical information.

Changes to the terms

We may update these terms to reflect product, legal or security changes and will give appropriate notice of material changes. The version accepted at registration is recorded. Applicable South African mandatory law is not excluded by these terms.
